A question about expiry dates and advantages

When an advantage 'expires at Final 8', does that mean as soon as we have eight people left OR, that Final 8 is the last chance to play it?

Similarly, do ALL advantages/idols expire at 8?

If a power expires after the final 8, then final 8 is the last round it can be played.

I’d consider that as expiring once the final 8 is over. It would be very awkward to phrase it like that and have it expire at final nine.
