Oh really? In Texas geography is a required course At least in Houston.
History was always hit or miss. Back then they focused too much on the, for lack of a better word, "white" history. A lot of black history, Latino history, women history, LGBT+ history, etc, were condensed into a small section at the end of the history book that most classrooms never reached lmao. And it was always the boring stuff too. I mean yes I am fully aware that back then, white Americans were a huge part of our history, but it always felt skewed. I prefer an objective history lesson. Concepts like manifest destiny are just ways to justify the selfish takeover of the Europeans. If they owned up to it and called it for what it was, then I would be more receptive to it. It's not like the history textbook authors were the ones being selfish. It's just very telling that these historians know better and still choose to teach us the one-sided perception of what really happened. Anyway rant over lmao. I did not mean to hijack your wonderful blog<3
Reading is boring. Arithmetic though, now THAT was sexy.

Oh I grew up in Virginia, all of our history is revolutionary war + slavery + civil war + Jim crowe era. NOTHING ELSE. Extremely pitiful curriculum.
Arithmetic? That is the least sexy thing on the PLANET. Try memorizing all 14 countries that border Russia in order of longest to shortest border

Ew that sounds awful. At least Texas was its own country at once. <3 Though I must say that I'm glad we are part of America now though. Texas loves to make things so complicated, like the whole mask thing. I can only imagine what it's like if they were handling things their way lmao. RIP everyone else.
I can't even tell you ONCE country that borders Russia. I know Sarah Palin can see it from her house though, despite Alaska not technically being a border. Geography seems fun in certain instances. Not sure if this already exists (I feel like it does?), but there should be a board game where we use a map as the foundation and instead of moving into spots like on a game board we move to a different country. I have no idea what a good objective would be without sounding like global domination though lmao.

Noooo. In elementary and in middle school, we did take a Texas history course.
In high school we only did world history and American history. Not sure about Virginia lmao.
So freshmen took world geography. Sophomores did world history. Juniors did American history (AP students did all of American history and everyone else did from reconstruction onward). Seniors did economics and government.

All of 1st grade - 7th grade was ONLY Virginia history, then 8th grade is a government course. 9-11 are world history classes (OR VA History classes) and 12th is another government course
At least in Virginia

Wait you had seven years worth of Virginia history? That’s nuts lmaoooo. I honestly cannot remember what areas in history we specifically studied in elementary but I feel like it wasn’t just Texas, mostly because I feel like fourth grade was the one year Texas history was made a big deal. Like we even took a field trip to the Alamo and such lmao. I honestly cannot tell you for sure lmao. Everything before middle school is a blur
Oh so I was gonna comment this in your cast analysis but then I remembered you want most comments done in here.
This is in reference to the Zia playing as someone related to the theme. Back when we used to play anonymous games like these, most seasons we played had a theme and the cast would have to pick players based on that. It wasn’t even optional; it was required. There were some exceptions. Many of the seasons Kathy would host would be a free for all, but I do remember some games where we HAD to pick based on the theme. Off the top of my head, here are some themes we did:
Lost Walking Dead Buffy the Vampire Slayer Greys Anatomy Orange is the New Black Survivor (so we used survivor players only) Big Brother (so we used BB players only) Family Guy Harry Potter Smash Bros Disney/Pixar HBO Batman Hollywood (so we chose actors/actresses only) Mortal Kombat History (so we chose historical figures like Harriet Tubman) Cartoon Network/Nickelodeon (same season) Game of Thrones True Blood Breaking Bad Spiderman (this one was a hot mess because instead of people choosing some of the villains to have diversity, the host allowed people to pick the same character if they were from a different series; for example, we had Aunt May twice - one from the Toby series and one from the Andrew series, which made playing a trip lmao; and yes, there were multiple sets of the same person lmaoo)
These were notoriously harder to cast though since not everyone knew every show/theme very well lmao. If a host asked me to play and I liked them enough I’d play even though I had no idea who anyone was, so any inside jokes went over my head.

I definitely see that as an issue, but I feel it might really help conceal identity. If Nagisa wasn't picked and Morgan went with Lydia Deetz for BBQ10, I don't think I would have known it was her immediately tbh.
But I imagine some people might not apply if they don't like the theme, too. I know I didnt apply to BBQ9 despite /maybe/ being a shoe-in for being casted in it... I'm NOT a fan of Harry Potter one bit, so I just didn't even want to apply

Lydia Deetz lmao. I wanted to play as her in a season but idk someone else always crept up. And someone wanted to play as her in BBE which woulda made the Beetlejuice thing interesting whoops. I love Winona Ryder though <3
Yea if people don’t like the theme or know it too much then they won’t apply. I would have done HP except
1 - I was just Hermione so it would be fresh in peoples heads 2 - I’ve played wayy too many seasons lmao 3 - I made finals in a Harry Potter game (lost to a bitter jury, rude), so I didn’t wanna play another one and do worse lmao
In hindsight I should have done BBQ9 and align with Alex instead of doing BBQX rip

Yeah I mean we overthought the challenge, piper literally guessed it first try and we just ended up complicating it for ourselves.
